Information about Child Born in Turkey

Dear Turkey Central team,
My name is Friendley Mars, I am from Haiti and I am a resident of Turkey. I came here about two months ago and my wife was pregnant by the time I arrived here. She delivered last week and I am in the process of registering the baby.

The issue is that there is no Haitian embassy in Turkey where I could have a birth certificate in order to give my daughter a nationality and the Turkish law doesn't provide nationality based on where a baby is born.

Can please provide some assistance?

Waiting for your response as soon as possible.

Contact Haiti's foreign affairs office. There is going to be some office which handles issues for Haitian citizens in Turkey, you just need to find out what office it is. It will be under the foreign affairs office.

As I understand it, you'll get the actual birth certificate from the hospital in Turkey. Then register the birth and get the baby's passport at whatever office handles citizen affairs for Haitians in Turkey. The birth certificate doesn't give nationality, it's just a registration of the birth.
