Hi

I am confused about processing time for PR first time apply.

It is stated that, the maximum processing time is 90 days.

I applied for PR first time on the 16th. May 2019. Made the interview on 11th. of June 2019.

I did not receive any answer yet, every time I check my application result showing me:

Kayıt durumunuz : It is under Assessment

I do not know when the processing time begin?

Is it from applications date? or from interviews date?

Any help will be appreciated.

When you apply online, you are just entering your information into the system, creating your application, and creating your appointment. No processing is done with that information.

The processing time begins at the end of your interview, when they have your actual application package with all of the documents. Your temporary residence permit, which you got at the end of your interview, is valid until your residence permit comes in the mail or 90 days.

Then the package is sent to the DGMM Ankara headquarters. In Ankara, a second immigration specialists goes over your application, and if everything is okay, you'll get an e-mail or an SMS saying that your residence has been approved. Or you will  see that message when you check the status of your application using the online system.

But until you receive that message, it will say "under assessment."

In Antalya, where I live, the amount of time between the interview and the card delivery is around 40 days. In Istanbul, where there are far more applications, it can take longer.

Evening Ken,

Happy to finally see such a forum about RP outside of North America and many thanks for initiating it.

I’m currently in Istanbul and have my appointment next week in Beylikdüzü... I was wondering if there’s any heads up prior to my « Randevu », considering that I’ve been able to gather all the required docs without any legal reps.

I would appreciate any advice that would be helpful.

Cheers!

Meriam

Fada, with you application number written along the top,the letter basically states that you've submitted your documents & paid the fees and you'll be informed of the outcome within 90 days. This will be from the date stamp on that paper.

It allows you to stay here legally but is not a letter allowing you to travel out of Turkey without paying an overstay fine on exit. Only the full 'temporary residence paper/15 day travel letter does that.

Hi everyone,

Any advice on how to pay ikamet fees prior to Randevu please ? I just want to avoid a second trip to the government office because it’s very far from where I live.

Thanks in advance!

I heard that I should have it at the end of my appointment, which I did not!!

That is my fault... this is the first time I have seen the document @Fada posted. Thank you for posting it, Fada, and thanks @REDDERS for explaining it! Whenever I go to an appointment, I get a temporary residence permit. I was not aware that in Istanbul they were giving these documents in some cases, instead. I will update the articles I have written to reflect this.

@Meriam, you can pay the fees at any vergi dairesi (tax office). There is one in every district. Also, you can pay at Ziraatbank or Halkbank. If the Beylikdüzü has a cashier (many of the DGMM offices do), you can pay there. If you go early, you can pay them before your appointment. If you can't pay them before your appointment, the immigration specialist will tell you to go and pay the fees and bring back the receipts. Try to pay them before your appointment if you can, it is a lot easier that way. You must have your printed application with you and your passport, because they will need your application number.

Fada, you didn't get the temporary RP document/15 day travel letter because you application has not been officially accepted yet, it's been sent for a second verification. When you receive the text, hopefully it will state your application was evaluated positively [their wording not mine]. At that point you can go back and ask for the letter until your card arrives.

This appears to be a quirk of the Istanbul GOC only.

Thank you very much REDDERS for your reply, now it is clear for me how the things are going in Istanbul.

I will follow your advice, and go to the immigration office after receiving their message.

All the best

Fada
