This is from Turkish Customs, or Gumruk, regarding bringing vehicles to Turkey, I thought I'd pass this on.

FORMALITIES FOR PRIVATE MOTOR VEHICLES ALL RULES WHICH ARE DEVELOPED IN RESPECT WITH THE TRANSACTIONS APPLICABLE ON ALL PRIVATE USE LAND CARRIAGE VEHICLES TO BE BROUGHT TO THE COUNTRY UNDER THE TOURISM PRIVILEGES GRANTED WITHIN THE SCOPE OF TEMPORARY IMPORT REGIME AND THE REQUIREMENTS WHICH MUST BE OBSERVED WITHIN THE FRAME OF CIRCULAR NO: 6 WHICH WAS ANNOUNCED BY THE OFFICIAL GAZETTE BEARING THE ISSUE NO: 2644 AND DATED AS OF 01.03.2007.

1. WITHIN ANY PERIOD OF 12 MONTHS, ONLY A TERM OF 180 DAYS IS ALLOWED FOR THE STAY OF PRIVATE USE LAND CARRIAGE VEHICLES.

2. UPON THE SUBMITTAL OF ONE TURKISH TRANSLATED TEXT WHICH IS LEGALIZED EITHER BY THE EMBASSY, CONSULATE OFFICE OR NOTARY PUBLIC AND CONSTITUTES THE COPY OF DOCUMENT WHICH HAS BEEN ISSUED BY THE SOCIAL SECURITY INSTITUTIONS OF RELEVANT COUNTRY IN ORDER TO DEFINE THOSE PERSONS WHO RESIDED ABROAD AND GOT RETIRED (INCLUDING THOSE WHO ARE RETIRED DUE TO THE DISABILITY AND THE ONES THAT HAVE ALREADY ACQUIRED THE RIGHT OF INTERIM PENSION), A ONE YEAR TERM WILL BE ALLOWED FOR THE STAY OF VEHICLES BROUGHT BY THESE PERSONS.

3. UPON THE EXPIRY OF SUCH ALLOWED TERMS, SUCH VEHICLES HAVE TO BE TAKEN OUT OF THE COUNTRY.

4. IN CASE THOSE PERSONS WHO, UPON THE EXPIRY OF SUCH ALLOWED TERMS, ACTUALLY REMAIN ABROAD FOR A TIME PERIOD NOT LESS THAN 6 MONTHS, THEN THEY ARE ALLOWED TO BRING THEIR VEHICLES AGAIN UNDER THE SAME ABOVE CONSIDERATION.

5. DURING THE ENTRY OF THESE VEHICLES INTO TURKEY, AN OWNERSHIP CERTIFICATE AND AN INSURANCE POLICY WHICH IS VALID IN TURKEY AND COVERS THE ALLOWED STAY PERIOD, MUST BE PRESENTED TO THE CUSTOMS ENTRY GATE AUTHORITIES.

6. IN CASE THE INSURANCE POLICY IS NOT CONSIDERED VALID OR ITS VALIDITY PERIOD IS LESS THAN THE ALLOWED PERIOD IN TURKEY, THE ENTRY OF VEHICLE IS ALLOWED AFTER GRANTING PERMISSION UP TO THE MAXIMUM TERM DEFINED IN THE INSURANCE POLICY.

7. IN CASE THERE EXISTS NO OWNERSHIP CERTIFICATE OR THIS CERTIFICATE HAS BEEN ISSUED IN THE NAME OF SOME ONE ELSE, THE ENTRY OF VEHICLE INTO TURKEY, IS NOT ALLOWED IF A POWER OF ATTORNEY CERTIFICATE HAS NOT BEEN PRESENTED.

8. IN CASE THE VEHICLE IS IMPORTED THROUGH A THE POWER AT ATTORNEY VESTED ONE PERSON OTHER THAN ITS OWNER, ALONG WITH THE PRESENTATION OF TURKISH TRANSLATED TEXTS WHICH ARE LEGALIZED EITHER BY THE EMBASSY, CONSULATE OFFICE OR NOTARY PUBLIC AND WHICH DO CONSTITUTE THE OFFICIAL COPIES OF POWER OF ATTORNEY, IT IS CONSIDERED NECESSARY TO PRESENT THE CUSTOMS ENTRY GATE AUTHORITIES THOSE CERTIFICATES OF POWER OF ATTORNEY, WHICH HAVE BEEN ALREADY RATIFIED BY THE RELEVANT COUNTRY
