Hello people,

My name is Ross and I am all new to this forum stuff, I have no clue of where to look for the relevant answer to my question so I would greatly appreciate it if one of you could help me..

I am looking to get away for the summer to Marmaris, I am looking to stay for around 3 months, what I would like to know is what kind of visa would I need, I would be seeking work whilst out there but not anything to heavy would just be to see me through like bar work or cleaning ect ect.. and I have found a few websites for places to stay but if any of you are familiar with nice cheap places to stay that would also be appreciated.. Thank you for your time.

Hi Ross,

There's plenty of info about Visas in the Turkey Visas forum. But basically you can get a 90-day tourist visa when you arrive in Turkey. You would not be able to work legally. There are plenty of pensions (pansiyon) in Marmaris, you might have a look at HostelWorld. You can save tons of money if you don't mind sharing a room with a few other people, prices can get as low as 25 TL if you don't mind that.

Hi Ross,

sorry but you would find it very hard to find casual work in Marmaris, the season has already started and the place will be filled by now. Your only chance would be if you are multi-lingual and even then it would be difficult to get legal work. The local authorities are cracking down hard on illegal workers and most get deported straight away.

your only chance really would be to try to get work as a rep. get into contact with thomas cook, thomsons etc. and try to get a summer job

good luck
