Refundable Demurrage Deposit

I have recently shipped my goods from Australia to Istanbul, using an Australian company called Hellas Europe. My container arrived nearly 3 weeks ago, and due to Hellas getting the paperwork wrong, Turkish customs have only just begun processing my container. Hellas chose a company called Esen Moving to do the customs clearance here. They now tell me I have to pay a USD $750 refundable demurrage fee. I gather this means that when the shippng line (someone called Antuan Makzume) get the container back, I get my deposit back. Has anyone had dealings with any of these companies? Has anyone paid this sort of deposit and actually got it back? The Australian company know nothing about it (they say) and at the moment are refusing to pay it on my behalf. Any help would be appreciated.

If you exceed their offloading free time. You pay a daily demurrage fee. I have never heard of demurrage being refunded. An Australian shipper with a Greek name in Turkey and the charge is in US dollars? No wonder you are confused.
