  1. Here is a list of the offices of the Göç İdaresi Genel Mudürlüğü (Directorate General of Migration Management, or DGMM) offices in each province of Turkey. This is where you need to go to get your residence permit. The DGMM also has a foreigner communications center where you can speak to an immigration specialist. Just call 157 from any telephone within Turkey. The call will be free. From outside of Turkey, call +90 312 157 1122. Long-distance charges will apply to calls made from outside of Turkey. Adana Address: Atakent Mahallesi Selahattin Çolak Bulvari No :88 Yüreğir / Adana
  2. If you've looked into applying for a residence permit in Turkey, you've probably already heard of the Göç İdaresi Genel Müdürlüğü. You may also have heard it called the Göç or Göç İdaresi. What they're referring to is the Directorate General of Migration Management, or DGMM. What is the Directorate General of Migration Management? The Directorate General of Migration Management (DGMM) is a Turkish government organization under the Department of the Interior. It processes residence permit applications and issues residence permit cards, implements immigration policies, and provides prot
  3. No temporary RP paper or any other paper given after I submitted my application. She just took my phone number and told me to go. I was so nervous I even left my receipt in the file I submitted. Does anyone one know what will happen next ? I submitted on the 10/10/19
  4. My husband was to the first time residence permit interview last Wednesday. He asked during the interview for a letter to travel outside for 15 days. the officer told him he can not get immediately, he will receive a SMS message in 2 working day to come again and get the letter. Unfortunately he got nothing yet. we are planning to leave on the 4th of October. He has already used his 90 days visa. if he does not get such a letter and leave on the 4th. of October, Is he going to pay a fine for the exceeding days? Can he get this letter from ANY DGMM office in Istanbul without thi
  5. Yesterday I had my meeting in DGMM kadikoy, I went to the meeting and expected that I am going to a certain appointment which it had been sent to me from DGMM. When I arrived and asked where the meeting should be, the police women at the door told me to stand in a long line and wait to my turn, when my turn came, the DGMM officer asked me if it is renewal application? No it is my first time application. It is look like she did not pre-read the application. I am wondering if this is the normal way to have a meeting at the DGMM? For the property owners they should have a document
  6. I went to Goc Idaresi (immigration office) in Ankara today inquiring on the status to a mistake made on my kimlik (identity) card that I received back on 13 Dec 2018, which I turned it in for correction. Since it's been more than 5 weeks, I inquired today. The officer pulled up my record and then gave me a PTT barcode. I went to check at my local PTT after, but I was informed that no package has come in yet with that barcode. I also checked on gonderitakip.ptt.gov.tr to track the package but no details are showing. Could you help understand this situation? Does this mean soon I'll receive a te
  7. I have residence permit (short time) anybody knows if i cancel my application from the residence permit application website what will happen? (Because i need edit my info) And anybody know if I should go as person to immigration office or I should post my documents ( because system gave me time & date in April 2017 to going there with my application & documents) but i heard people just extend/renew it by sending their documents with PTT post after they fill their application from online My permit expire date is 12 February But it is written by mistake as 20 February in my ap
  8. Hi This specific issue is affecting me right now. My wife and I decided to cancel our Istanbul appointments at the main Fatih Göç İdaresi that were due on Sat 10th Dec because we had heard that if you have a Saturday appointment and need to take more documents back it can only be done on a Saturday and we are in the UK for the 2 Saturdays after 10th and don't want to be told on the 3rd Saturday - "sorry you're too late, you should have come back earlier". So we cancelled them ok. We did my wife's again and got to the final screen and "Make Appointment" is selectable. So I then tried
  9. It took me about 3 months of trouble, probably 100 calls to 157, 2 appointments and generally lots of work, expenses and waiting to get my residency permit in hand. (1st time short term tourist) It was issued for 11 months, instead of 12 I applied for for some ridiculous reason. (Not important for my question, but whoever cares for the reason: My address is a hotel and the hotel owner wrote me a letter that I stay there and the end date was matched to fit my first appointment, I didnt ask them to re-write it for my second appointment, and even though it is a hotel and I can stay there as
  10. I've just finalized a letter for the DGMM with the questions our members and I have about residence permits. I will take it there tomorrow. The last time I took a list of questions to them, it took about two weeks for them to get back with me. Which is okay. I'm happy to give them time to double-check things if necessary. In the letter I have 62 questions. And I am sure they will be very happy to see that! These are questions for which I couldn't find an answer anywhere. In other cases, I read what other foreigners reported on various other forums or on Facebook groups, but having 20
  11. I met with the Director of Coordination and Harmonization at the Antalya Göç İdaresi Genel Müdürlüğü (Directorate General of Migration Management, or DGMM) today. While I have already left him a list of questions regarding residence permits, I wanted to clarify a few of the more urgent issues. Here are the results of that meeting. Q: Is the two-year residence permit available, and being issued? A: Yes. It has been fully implemented, and they are being issued. Q: I see that, on the DGMM website, it says that the foreigner must certify that they have the financial means to support
  12. Since Ken is going to ask DGMM to clarify a few issued regarding residency permit applications, I would like to collect those questions here. We should try to keep them as precise as possible, but since they make everything so complicated I am not sure if it will be possible 1) How can a first time short-term residency applicant apply for 2 years, if foreigners health insurance policies are only ever issued for 1 year? 2) If the requirement for the 1 year health insurance policy is to be valid one day after the end of the requested residency permit end date, and if the residency p
  13. I've been waiting for (any new about) my renewed Ikamet for 2 months now and have to leave the country next week... The e-ikamet.goc.gov.tr website states: Does anyone know where one can find the Directorates locations? I'm in Istanbul but only see addresses in Ankara on their website. Can It be that it's necessary to go to Ankara?!? And what fees are they asking for?
