A friend of ours has decided to let his residence lapse due the onerous nature of the process. they bought a car many years ago before residence was required for a foreigner to own a car. Does anyone know if they will be required to sell it? I have not been required to show residence when having my TUV test done, but these things are always changing.
Thanks for any advice given, myself and a couple of friends wish to motorcycle out to Turkey from UK, next summer 2017 while I will be staying at my property for 4-5 weeks they will need to return to UK, my question is this as I'm staying can I put their bike details on my passport so enabling them to leave Turkey after a few days by flighing home to return a few weeks later for our trip back. Or is there another solution ? Which doesn't involve leaving bikes custom compound. The bikes would be under lock and key in my garage. I've driven out four times already, but never on my bike. Many thanks once again Charlie Harry
Hi everybody, I'm thinking to start a used cars dealer company in Turkey. But there is a very short amount of information about import taxes, rules, etc, etc.. Could anybody help me with exact info? I already tried to search this and few other forums, but most questions is that "some guy from UK / USA / Mars want to bring a car from his home country to Turkey", my situation are different. I want to import not just 1 car and not for myself and not as a person but as a company (Turkish co.) For example questions to which I would like to know answers: How the import tax are formed? Does it based on the price in the foreign invoice (which I will get for example from German car-dealer) or on some other factors? Do i need to bring car after tax clearance to some "certification agency" or to pay import taxes is the only one thing which I needed to do ? Do i need some special licences from government to be able to import cars into Turkey or I only need a registered Turkish company (like any shop or cafe) ?
New to the forum trying desperately to find information about driving restrictions. Bought a new Toyota car and received MG plates and also restrictions as to who can drive this car. Is this a mistake or can I have " designated drivers" so that my friends can drive the car when I am not in Turkey ? Does it also mean that if I sell the car I can only sell it to a foreigner? I looked at many sites before buying the car and there was no mention of restrictions unless it was a " blue plate ". I would appreciate some information. I am Canadian retired in Turkey so maybe the rules are different according to nationality?!
