Thanks in advance!!!
  2. What are the differences between kargo and ptt? I want to send items inside istanbul (from one side to another) which one is better?

  4. Postal services in Turkey are provided by the Posta Telgraf Teşkilatı, or PTT, recognizable by its distinctive yellow logo. They are open from 09:00 AM to 12:00 noon, and from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM on weekdays. Larger, central PTT offices are open from 08:00 to 12:00 midnight. PTT does more than offer postal services. You can also pay your utility bills, and exchange foreign currency for Turkish Lira. Mailing Letters and Packages To mail a postcard, letter, or package, go to the nearest PTT office. Postal rates vary by package weight and destination. If you plan to mail a lot of postcards or envelopes with similar contents, you can buy stamps at PTT and put the letters or postcards in the mailbox outside. There are different rates for postcards and envelopes containing letters. Registered Mail Ask for yurt dışı kayıtlı posta takibi (yuhrt duh-shuh ka-yuht-luh posta tah-kee-bee). To get a signature from the recipient, say imzalı (eem-zah-luh). Mail Delivery Times and Methods Mail from the UK can arrive in as little as five days. Mail from the USA can take a month or more. Small packages, like books, will be delivered to your door or box. Large packages will be kept at the local post office and a notification slip sent to your door or box. If there is something found in the package which is subject to customs duties, you will have to pay the duty when you pick it up at a central PTT office which has customs facilities. If you live in an apartment building, there will be a mail box for each apartment on the lobby floor. Turkish mailmen seldom use them, often putting the mail in a pile on whatever level surface is nearby for everyone to sort through. Mail Forwarding PTT doesn't offer mail forwarding. When you move, you will need to have a friend forward it, or go back and pick it up. 5. Hi all i am gonna buy some goods from chinese web sites as WISH or ALIEXPRESS. We just pay the product price online and the ship it to us. it is usually possible to choose free shipping to turkey. okey. Now what will happen for delivery? does the post agent bring it to my mentioned address at my home door? Should i have to pay some more money to him? or i should go somewhere like PTT or Cargo and pay Tax or KDV or something like those to receive my box? i hope you answer me "such a delivery is completely free in turkye";-) My good is wirstwatch and bicycle bag which cost less than 100$
  6. Hi, I wonder if yuo can help me please? I have heard someone say that you cannot ship to Turkey in Jiffy Bags - does anyone know if this is true? If so; if you have a link to a page supporting this I would be very grateful. Regards Jo
  7. So what's the cheapest way to ship things from Turkey to the US? I've always just used the PTT for sending home Christmas presents and stuff. It's a little slow sometimes, but everything has always been delivered just fine. The price with PTT isn't too bad, but it still seems expensive to me. I saved my shipping forms from X-mas, and for example, one package was 1090 grams, and another was 1202 grams, and both of those were 44 TL with surface mail. Two other packages, one 620 grams and the other 690 grams, both went for 34 TL. How does that compare to companies you guys use? Is PTT the cheapest method, or are there other companies that do it cheaper? I know I've seen UPS here, but I've heard there are some other cargo companies in Turkey and I don't know anything about them. Anything really valuable will be coming with me on the plane, this would just be stuff like winter clothes and some books for work, so it doesn't need to be registered, insured, or delivered in any particular time frame.
