  1. To start off, I have touristic residence permit valid till April 14 2020 issued in Afyon. But after I arrived from my vacation from Europe last January 2020, I was already starting to live in Antalya. Covid came, and I wasn't able to move intercity to Afyon to do my extension and I was stuck in Antalya, so I did a new residence permit application in Antalya scheduled July 2020. I was wondering if there are new requirements. I just wanted to prepare ahead of my appointment. I have rental agreement with my apartment here in Antalya, bank statement, application form. Is there any
  2. Last week left our Mersin apartment on Thursday afternoon headed to our new place in Antalya. We drove half way and stopped at a hotel where there were only two other guests. On the way to Antalya we went past some of the biggest greenhouses I have seen - used for growing bananas. We arrived at Antalya on the Friday afternoon - to another hotel as our furniture and goods were not due to arrive at the new apartment until Saturday morning. The removal company decided that because access was limited they needed three more men to do the job so we paid for that. Everything was in and f
  3. (I wasn't sure what category to post this under, so move as necessary I will be in Antalya for the summer (July and August), staying in the Muratpasa area, and was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to cope with the heat? I was advised that I shouldn't go outdoors from 11-17:00, is that accurate? Is it humid or a dry heat? Also, going to the beach and on day trips- should I plan for early mornings or later in the afternoons? I am a woman from the US and will be there by myself, so I would also love to meet up with some expat
  4. I need some help from those of you who know the Antalya area! We're flying over to see the family in Gebze for a week from 10 September, and then the plan is to fly down to Antalya for a week on our own. We've only ever spent day trips in Alanya / Antalya, while staying in Side or Kas, but we like the look of the area and we're thinking that the season is still lively there in September. So, if you had the choice, which area would you stay in? Oz likes a big pool to swim in, preferably with the option of going to the beach from the hotel too. If it wasn't for this, I would be tempted
  5. The Directorate General of Migration Management, or DGMM is, in Turkish, called the Göç İdaresi Genel Müdürlügü. Most Turks just call it the "Göç İdaresi." Apply Online First You must apply for your residence (residency) permit using the E-ikamet website, at https://e-ikamet.goc.gov.tr/. At the end of your application, the online system will give you an appointment date (or you will receive one by E-mail or SMS message) for you to bring a signed printout of your application, the required documents, and your passport to the Antalya branch office of the DGMM. During your appointment, an
  6. Hi I just created this topic to help everybody who needs to have an idea about areas in Antalya, especially for those who are coming to live here. Unfortunately, I personally do not have a clear idea about areas here so if you think you can help, please add what you know. For example Lara area: beaches, hotels, residential buildings. anything else? Konyaalti: Easy access to the beach wıth the new waterfront, hotels, closer to the center ... which area ın Konyaalti is better for a famıly? Anythıng else? Liman:? Any input wıll greatly be appreciated.
  7. I've been living in Izmir, or thereabouts, for many years. Farthest away from Izmir, I lived in Çeşme, at the end of the peninsula which juts out from the south part of Izmir. I spent a year there. Çeşme is very dead in the winter, to the point that I think it would be maddening for me, yet I do miss it because it's so quiet. In Çeşme, during the off season, everything's closed, and it's as if everyone goes into hibernation. The expats in Çeşme, mostly Brits, seem to go home early, so the winter months are exceedingly dull. I'm planning to move south, to leave Izmir. My main choices are F

Any recommendations and/or feedback would be appreciated; especially on issues that are not highlighted in the glossy company brochures (like potential electricity cuts, sewerage/drainage odours, noise, etc). Guidance apprecia
