  1. i read your article about the visa calculation and i also used the calculator you put as a link.but i just don't understand every time i arrive in turkey they tell me something completely different. now i arrived on the 28.2.2020 the last time i was here was from the 12.9.19-13.11.19 = 63 days.. so the online visa calculator tells me i got 90 days but at the passport control they tell me 26 days and that i have to leave after that otherwise i get a fine.. i had several of those experiences! once they thought me my visa is finished ( not in the passport control in an office) so i
  2. Dear forum, I’m from Sweden and moved to Istanbul together with my girlfriend to join her for her exchange semester at the Istanbul Technical University. The 90/180 rule applies to me as a tourist, however, as I have been entering and exiting the country several times this year (and will at least 2 more times this year) I am not sure how to count and whether I will need a residence permit or not. I already went here on April 18th for vacation and stayed for 11 days. On the 28th of August I came back to Turkey with my girlfriend for her school start, exited again for a week, and then cam
  3. I would like to know if the 90 days rule is depending on the person or on the passport, means if someone has 2 passports, can he/she stay in the country 180 days by using 2 passports or not?
  4. Does time spent outside Turkey visiting Greece mean i will have extra time up to 90 day limit when i return?
  5. Most tourist visas are subject to the “90 in 180 days rule.” This means that while your visa is valid for a period of 180 days, and while you can come and go as often as you like, you can only be in Turkey for a total of 90 days during any 180-day period. Based on the European "Schengen Visa" The Turkish visa is based on the "Schengen" visa. The Schengen countries are European countries which do not require a visa for visitors from the other countries involved. However, a foreigner who is not a citizen of one of the Schengen countries must have a "Schengen Visa." It is from the Scheng
  6. Hello everyone my name is Dominik and I'm from Poland so i need get e-visa with 90 180 days rule, and now my question is, I was in Turkey since 05.01-24.01 and later since 20.02-26.04 all stay was around 87 days i guess, the visa valid finish the 02.07.19 and i want to get another visa for come Turkey the 06.07 for 12 days but my question is the 180 days are discounting since first day i came to Turkey (05.01)? or the last exit from Turkey (26.04)? can somebody explain me it please?
  7. I overstayed my 90 days visa, I paid fine left for month then came back, at the airport they made me sign to get my resident card in 10 days which I did but it was denied. I have now one more month for my 90 days visa if I leave before my 90 days are over and come back with another 90 days visa which I can buy online since I have an USA passport, they will let me in or not? do they will ban me for 5 years? Whats the rules please?
  8. I made an account just to ask a really important question. I am a swedish citizen in Turkey right now and I´ve been here for almost a month. According to the 90/180 days rule I can stay a maximum up to 90 days in any half year period. But if I get a visa the next time I come back to Turkey, would I then be exempt from this rule?
  9. I am posting this as a question regarding the helpful information in Ken Grubb's article from 2016 about the 180-day/90-day rule. I used to think that a new 180-day period could begin the day after the previous 180-day period ended. I did not realize this period could "move." I thought someone (even a confused police officer) had told me that once you had used all your 90 days, you had to wait 90 days before you could re-enter Turkey with a new tourist visa. Is this true? Suppose someone had used all 90 days and would like to come back to Turkey 2 months after the previous exit. In t
  10. Sorry, I am still very new to the site and finding my way around. I hope this is the correct forum to post this. I was reading: and it says "Let's say it's October 1st. You want to know how much time you have on your visa. Count back 180 days from October 1st (you can use the date calculator under "External Links". You will see the date 180 days previously was July 3rd." But counting back 180 days from October 1st is not July 3rd. It is April 4th. (July 3rd to October 1st is only 90 days, not 180 days.) More importantly, I was trying to determine when I can return to Turk
  11. I am an italian cititzen and currently in Turkey on a tourist visa. Is there any way to extend the 90 days? I was looking on www.mfa.gov.tr. For many countries it says 90 days withing 180 days. For italian it only says 90 days. Does this mean I could leave Turkey for a day and reenter to get another 90 days?
  12. I'm planning on coming back to Turkey next month (September) but my visa runs out on 30th September! Am I correct in thinking that I can leave Turkey on 30th the day it runs out? Also I will hopefully be coming back sometime in April next year and also looking to come back for 3-4 months in the summer. A new visa for April should be no problem but if I come back in the summer this will take me over the 90 days allowed in 180. What would my options be? Am I correct in thinking that to apply for another tourist visa I would have to leave the country for a day and come back? Or would an
  13. i have a German passport and stayed in the beginning of the year 2 months in Turkey. Now i am back to turkey and have one month left on my 90 days in 180 days. If i understand it correctly it counts from the first day of arrival. Now, i am planning to stay 2,5 months in Turkey. Between the 90th day of my stay and the end of 180 days is a gap of 3 weeks. one option would be to go out of Turkey for this time, but since my girlfriend is living here i am looking for a way to be able to stay inside the country. 1) what are the consequences if i overstay 3 weeks? would the 180 days start a
  14. Hi everyone, first post on here. I have tried to find an answer to my query but as yet to no avail. We came out on an e visa dated 15 April which expires on 11 October. We came out on 15 April and stayed 56 days, we went home 8 June and stayed out for 90 days. We came back on 8 September, planning to stay 90 days and intended to apply for a new e visa online on 12 October. We thought that if we left around 30 November that the 180 count back would still have us only using 90 days in that period. We have been told we can't get an e visa whilst in turkey. We then went to the port to ask advice,
  15. So I'm going to Turkey for 2 weeks on 22nd March and my visa is valid from this date. The visa is valid until 17th September. However I want to go back in summer and stay past this date, can I get another visa even though the other one would still be valid?
  16. Hi, I have a tourist visa and I wish to apply for a residence permit, but this summer I stayed in Turkey for 50 days. I'm back in Norway now, but i just have 40 days left on my visa until december. If I go to turkey now, is it too late to apply for a residence permit? I really don't understand this rules, why do you have to apply the first 30 days if you can come after your 90 days is finished and apply within 10 days.. Anyway when i enter the e-ikamet application all the dates are crossed out. And i also saw that your 90 days can be on 2 visas, so if i'm going to turkey for 1 month in the end
