  1. Hi Sheila. Welcome to the Forum.

I'm presently living on the outskirts of Fethiye n i've just recently been made aware of a Garden Centre by the name of Evim in Ovacik.

They have a Facebook Page n seem to sell everything for the home n gardenThe owners name is SaffettHe;s very helpful met him last week when i picked up an electrical item that i;d ordered the previous week.

    Look through his F/B page.

If you donlt see anything just send Saffet a message..

Hope you find what you;re looking for.

  2. Sunny n Chee Chee, thanks, I was so happy that someone took it into their heart to take this beautiful pup home with them to love n share with thier family.

I was bubbling at her leaving but happy also that a new home was found so quickly for her.

The owner has contacted me to say that all is going well n she was off to the vet for the pups injections.

Yeh this story did have a happy ending, many pets out there don't.

  3. Hello there Animal Luvers, just thought i let you know that i a luvly couple from Ovacik.

Fethiye took home Tarcin with them on Saturday.

Her new name is Shadow, named by their 9 year son.

The lady contacted me yesterday to say that all was going well n Shadow was going to the Vets for a check-up n to start her injections.

I'm over the moon that this dog was'nt left to roam the streets,we only had her for 2 week n luckily a new home was found for this gorgeous Big Black Lab Girl in a relative short time.

    Happy ending to this story.

  4. How can anybody just close the door on their so called pet!!!.

Big shame on the owner !!!

I live on the outskirts of Fethiye where many dogs roam free.most of them are actually owned by Villagers.1 little b*tch had been scanning our garden n 2 dogs.

Eventually she broke in.funny at first but she;s a rather yappy dog n neighbours were begining to think we had a new addition to our family.

Then the b*tch went into season.

OMG!!! I think all the dogs in Karagedik came to pay her a visit.

I awoke one morning to 7 male dogs in our field of a garden.

My 2 were in their kennel watching all the goings on.

My hubby did his best repairing the fence each time there was a break in or break out.

She's out of season now but still breaking in.

If she's still here by the time her pups come i'll contact Our Animal Shelter n hopefully mother n pups will havea cahnce in find new homes..

She belongs to someone as she's clean n her coat is oh so shiny.

None of the neighbours seem to know who she belongs to.

IMy husband n i just adore any animals really but my health permits me from looking after anymore than 2 little dogs.

My hips are still recovering from the antics of the rather large Black Lab.

  5. I just thought i;d put some pics up of the pup that i'm having to look after just now.well until her new owners come along.

Her name is Tarcin, she's about 3 months old.

    Playful n so so loveable.

    Free to good Home.

We are in the Karagedik area of Fethiye,5 min drives from Pelin Hotel,Calis.

PM me if anybody is out there n looking for a new adoreable pet.

    Lindy Loups.

I can;t seem to put any pics on.

My other post is in the Fethiye Section with Tarcins photos.

  6. CHee Chee, thats great you've got yourself a new pooch.

Fingers crossed somebody will take this georgous puppy that i'm fostering just now to fit into their new home soon.

Enjoy your new found friend Chee Chee,Lindy LouHi Abi, My Hubby has conatcted a few vets in Fethiye n i;ve posted a few adds regarding our new little black friend.

Surely somebody out there would luv to take her home with them.

No charge for her.she just needs somebody to love, take for long walks n much playtime to get rid of all her energy.

    Any takers?

  7. Chee Chee, too bad that you live in the Bodrum area,My husband brought home a luvly 3 months old black Labrador,3 days ago thinking that i would be happy,She;s georgous but we already have 2 dogs.

I suffer from Arthritist n walk with a stick so i can just about manage the 2 that we have, but another 1 is out of the question.

My husbands is not the normal Turkish man,he loves all animals.

It;s a struggle every month no we can;t have Chicken,sGoats n so on.

The reason being that i;d be left to look after them all.

I live on the outskirts of FethiyeProbably around 3/4 hours away from where you are just now.

We don;t have a car only a little scooter.

My husband meant well, his heart is in the right place.

A friend of his did;nt realise that the wee puppy would grow so fast n his children not too happy.

The puppy is big n wants to play.

    She just need some training.

I'm doing my best not too get attched to her but it;s really hard.

She needs a good home where somebody will give her the attention she requires at this age.

If you;re interested Chee Chee Private mail me.

Lindy LouChee Chee the dog is free to a good home.no money will be asked for.

    Fogot to mention this,oops!!!

  8. Sunny, all went well to-day with meeting Bevs Kids under the circumstances.

Bevs Funeral will be held over in Catalarik Cemetery on Fri 21st Sept at 3pm on the outskirts of Fethiye,Anyone that lives within the area is more than welcome to come along n send Bev on her journey.

  9. I'm meeting with Bevs Daughter n Son tomorrow at The British Consulate in Fethiye.

I'm pleased that they've been contacted regarding their mothers sudden death n came over.

There has'nt been alot of contact between them over the years.so this is going to be a daunting meeting for them in a strange country.

I only knew their mum for such a short time,9 months.

All i can do is tell them how i came to befriend their mum, show them her home n favourite places here in Fethiye.

I do feel better now known that they;re here.

  10. Hello my friends, I received a call from a Male Turkish friend of Bev's,i passed him onto my Hubby so that the information given is correct.

He was going to deal with the British Consulate to-day and will contact us later with an up-date.

Perhaps Abi, you could pass this info onto the other Forum that Bev used, just incase there are folks out there that would like to go to her Funeral.

Perhaps some of them live in the Fethiye area.

    Many thanks Abi.

It's a waiting game now to see what's going to happen next.

  11. Aston n Meral.thanks for your kind words.

I'm sure Bev will be thinking how sweet for your posts, hopefully reasuring her that she did indeed have more friends than she thought she had.

Life is so so short n we only get one shot at it. So.discuss your differences, kiss n make up,.shake hands n move on with your life cause we never know what lies round the corner.

  12. My thanks to Ken,Abi. Cukurbagli n Sunny, for getting back to me. Bev would have been surprised that anybody has taken the time to say nice things about her.

She always thought she was a burden to folks with her health and family issues.

I only met her 10 times for Cay n a natter ovder the past 9 months.

We chatted for hours on the phone as most of the time we would make plans to go out n she would cancel at the last minute.

So most of the time i was her telephone buddy.i was always there to listen to hear dilemas n try to calm her down.

Bev said i had a great calming influence on her which she wished she had.

The last time i saw her was 1 month ago i went to deliver Herbals tablets that i had got her whilst on holiday in Scotland.

Some people come into your life for just a short spell others are there for ever.

May Bevs Spirit be free now , she was a very depressed person at times.

I often had her laughing trying to make light of her problems.

She regularily attended the Esnaf Hospital n was on several medications.

Abi. that would be good of you if you could post on the other Forums n let them know that Bev has sadly passed away.

I received a telephone call a short time ago to say that i don;t have to go to the Hospital, things have been delayed until Monday.

The British Consulate has to try and contact her Sister,Son n Daughter of which she;s had no dealings with for years.

Old Family Issues that have troubled the lost soul for most of her adult life.

Bevs Forum name Lost In Paradise did suit her.

She was in Paradise living here in Fethiye but a bit on the Lost part was very true.

Bev spoke of an English Lady by the name of Helen that lives here in Fethiye, i do hope she's been contacted.they had known one another for 4/5 years.

There' s also an english Lady by the name of Anne that also lives in the Fethiye area,up until 1 year ago her n Bev had been close friends, letters were posted by Bev to an Agony Aunts page on Land Of Lights NewspaperI.

She should have spoken to this Lady face to face, but neither of the two sadly made up.

Sad when things like this and now the persons gone forever and too late to make up.

I used to see this lady at my Tai Chi Class but that was well before summer set in.

I'm rambling on here, just concerned about a warm, friendly and higly intelligent woman that just wanted to fit in with everyday normal life.

I'll always have a place in my heart for you Bev.

  13. My friend Beverly telephoned to-night,but it was'nt her speaking,it was one of her Turkish neighbours informing me that Beverly had sadly died earlier this evening around 6.30pm at her home.

Someone will contact me tomorrow to arrange for me to go to the Devlet/Morgue to see her.

I would like to find out what was her cause of death and where she will be buried.

When Beverly was granted Turkish Citizenship a few years back she took a Turkish name.

I only know her as Bev or Yildiz.

Is there anybody within this Forum that would know her English n Turkish Surnames.

Sorry to post a sad message.

I'm still in a state of shock, finding it hard to take in what has happened to this lovely lady.

May Bev/Yildiz be that Free Spirit that she once was.

  14. Hi Quinn, i recently noticed that Migros have small 50ml bottles of Dr.

    Beckmann stain removals.

    Quite pricey,think they were 10tl..

I only noticed 2 of them, 1 for the removal of Ink 1 for Oil n i''m sure they;ll be other one;s trickling along soon.

I've never seen vanish soap here only in liquid form.

In the begining i also ruined a few garments wi bleach products.

    For the washing machine i use Percil Powder,suits me fine n yumos extra/Fabric conditioner/White bottle,gives 60 washes/1500m(concentrated)around 10tl.

    Happy Washing Quinn.
