    Adana Revival

Hey guys, (Ken, hope ur doing fine) I'm in Adana too. .....M1 mall photo was taken last week. The place seems to be the nexus of daily life in this part of town. It gets really busy on wknds.
  2. Adana is a great place to be. Moved here couple of months ago and totally impressed with the city and its large boulevards and sidewalks. People are also very friendly and helpful. Wouldn't have done the move though without the help of this forum. Thanks Ken and everyone else for your help.
  3. Nice photos indeed. Thanks for taking the time to post 'em....appreciate it. Ed

    Moving to Adana

Hi, Had plans to move to Adana last year but it didn't work out. Long-story short, will be in Adana in a few days to look for apartments (kiralik). Can you please recommend a good and trustworthy real estate agent? I'd appreciate it. tx

    living in Adana

Consider the Güzelyalı area. You may like it. I'm no expert in Adana but was recommended the same area by locals who are also members of this forum. Hope this helps. Good luck!
  7. Many thanks Conan. I sincerely appreciate your help. Ed
  8. Thank you so much for being so thorough in addressing all of my questions. It really means a lot to me. I had never considered Mersin until Ken brought it up. That said though, I have to admit the main reason pushing me towards an eventual move to Adana, and as you say, is the friendliness factor towards foreigners which was a pleasant surprise. And by all means, I ain't suggesting in any way Alanya is not friendly or anything like that, they are but not to the extent the Adana crowd is. I loved Ziyapaşa too. We also ended up somehow in Toros Mahallesi which seemed nice too. On the
  9. Hi Greenstein, Allah razı olsun for your kind reply and all the info/links. Again, thanks. My main concern about the move has to do mainly with the language barrier. Unlike Alanya, English isn't widely used in Adana and that will complicate things for a person like me whose Turkish is very limited.
  10. Thank you Ken for taking the time to write such a detailed reply. I really appreciate it. As far as Mersin goes, we never really considered it. Maybe it's because on our way to Adana the bus stopped at Mersin's bus station which looked really old and beaten up. But as the saying goes, never judge a book by its cover. In any event, thanks for the advice. I will definitely check the place out. Wow, 500-600 TL per month. That's really reasonable. Here in Alanya for something decent you have to shell out at least 800TL - and that doesn't include aydat.
  11. My name is Ed. I'm a naturalized US citizen who for the last 4 years has been living in Alanya. Visited Adana last year, which was more of forced trip if you will. We had to notarize same papers at the US Embassy. Long story short, we loved the place. The food, the people. Overall, it was a very nice experience. So we have decided to make the move to Adana and are excited about the idea. I was wondering if I could get some advice from members of this forum like Greenstein, Conan, Ken, Gupsise and others in terms of what areas to consider for rent. Also, what's the going rent rate for a tw
