We are in the process of applying for a kimlik. However, there is problems with the paperwork i.e Nufus office in Anatalya are asking for documentation showing ( Nufus / Censor ) for family back in U.K.
We have been living here for six years, with no property in U.K. and the consulate in Antalya agree that this paper does not exist. Has anyone experienced this before?
Can someone please tell us what the medical entails. having gone to the Devlet ( goverment ) hospital they do not understand when we say it is for Kimlik. Perhaps we should be asking for something else.
thanks.

Hi CukurbagliYou should probably ask for a medical to support your "Vatandaşlık Başvurusu" (citizenship application). The kimlik is just the ID card.
Thanks for that info, i wondered why we having strange looks at the Devlet hospital when we asked for a medical for the Kimlik. Will give it another go soon.

Hi Fil, thanks for reply. We had a friend with good English who explained we needed a statement of persons living or maybe dependant with us in U.K. We have no property in U.K. and no dependants with us. We contacted the consulate in Antalya and they agreed there is no such form. Nufus are still demanding this info. ( perhaps law has changed )I am afraid I don't understand what is being asked for, maybe there is a misunderstanding with the nüfus dairesi, or maybe the status is different, I am married to a Turk. Kevi, did you have a Turkish person with very good English helping you, or were you doing it yourselves?
We have been to Antalya three times now, with visits to consulate for stamps etc. on each visit, due to the fact every time we go to Nufus they think of something else they need. We have followed the criteria stated on their forms and have got extra such as bank/pension statements. We have lived in Turkey for seven years, we must be on their system for checks.
Do you know if the law re. citizenship has changed?
All the best

After 20 years of dealing with officialdom here, there always seems to be a way around obstacles, but only Turkish people together can work out the way round. I can undesrstand just about everything they are saying, but it always sounds like the situation is impossible, but after the conversation the Turkish person with me says we just need to do this, this and this and it will be OK. For these kinds of thing my wife or HoD always have to help me. After a lot of talk, and sometimes chats with the boss of the office, things get worked out, but I am never sure quite how. Any way, I am not through my process yet, we managed to submit the application 4 months ago, various checks have been made and now we are waiting for the interview with the nüfus dairesi.

Which interview is this? The only interview I had , other than one with police to check information, was with the Vali, Eminiyet Mudur and about 5 other people, a sort of language test.
I only got called to the nufus diaresi right at the end, to pick up my kimlik.

I know some of the other local authorities (down South) are a lot more flexible!

Does that have to be done in the UK or can it be done at a consulate in T?
I looked on a web site at a UK company that does that type of thing and their fee was £141!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
