Does anyone have any details on the Chinese restaurant in Incirlik? Phone number? Does it still exist? Is is worth a trip from Adana if you really miss Chinese food?

Well, there's an excellent Chinese restaurant here in Side - but Side is approximately 400 kms from Adana - up to you whether it's worth the journey? We also have a restaurant serving 3 x types of ostrich meat - - all of them really yummy too !!! And in these winter months, the Red and White Bar in Old Town Side is FABULOUS with its real Roman ruins walls and big log burning fire + large comfy white sofas all around. Also Apollonic Restaurant/Bar down by the harbour, loved by the locals for its log burning fire and amazing big candles and good sunsets overlooking the sea and watching the boats come in.

OK, this isn't quite the answer you wanted ... I realise that it's only 8 kms between Adana and Incirlik ... but sometimes a change is as good as a rest?

Dear Mickey,

I have to defer to the Incerlik folks because I don't know if it's still there. It was called "Great Wall" and it was pretty decent. Not cheap, but not outrageous. They even had pork entrees. And when we were living in Tarsus, they even delivered to our school campus (that's about 40 km) if there was a big enough order (7-8 teachers). A delivery to Adana would be no big deal, but the trip to Incirlik can always include some shopping, so I'd say it's worth your going there.

The Great Wall Chinese Restaurant is still open. Their phone number is 332-9279/9289. Their hours are 11:00 - 22:30 daily.

They were offering an all you can eat open buffet for $10.00 (Drinks extra) on Fridays and/or Saturdays. I don't know if they still are doing that.

They do advertise delivery although I do not know their delivery area.

Attached is an Oct 09 advertisement for them from "the Happenings".

The Review:

So after about 3 months of being without Chinese food, I must say I was pretty impressed with the taste and quality of the Fri/Sat buffet. The food was at least warm if not hot, it tasted legitimately like Chinese food you would get in the States (except maybe for the fried rice).

Soups were good. They had a variety of good chicken and beef entrees. The egg rolls were good too.

The price was $11 or 16.50 TL, not bad for a buffet abroad.

For the chinesefood-addicts in Antalya:
There is one in the beach park. The outside is looking great,
but I never went to eat there.
So if anyone tries, let me know :)

Big man bistro is in that same park,
no chinese food, but the best steaks you have ever eaten!!
(read juicy, thick and a little red inside :) )
They also have got other great dishes.
You should really give it a try!

I should open a chinese take away because I cook alot of chinese foods at home. Most chinese food is simple stir fry but the secret is in the marinade and preparation.

The Incirlik Chinese "Great Wall" restaurant has moved to Adana on Ataturk Bulvari. It is no longer open in Incirlik.

I found that the Great Wall is a Chinese Restaurant in Incirlik, Adana and has been serving for fourteen years. It is also a well-known place among not only the locals but also the Americans residing at the Incirlik American base. It's good to go there.

Hi Zanjay, welcome to Turkey Central. So where in the Philippines are you and how do you come to know about the Great Wall restaurant?
