Trying To Dodge Around The Xmas Holiday Strikes

I am fortunately not travelling by BA but I am travelling out of Heathrow back to Turkey on 3 January. I happened to spot the times of the baggage handlers and check-in staff strike. They are striking three times for 48 hour periods and one of them is on 3-4 January so I managed to change my Turkish Airline ticket from the 3rd to the 2nd January. I lose a day's holiday but better that than caught in the travel chaos. The union reponsible for this is also Unite (who represent the BA cabin crew) and are doing it as part of a coordinated action to cause maximum chaos over the holiday period. Of course if the BA cabin crew strike is called off at the last minute - which could quite possibly happen, you never know - then the baggage handlers strike might be called off or vice versa. Whatever, I'd rather sacrifice a day's holiday and pay the
