I think Scream will be able to answer this one.

My brother has sent me some stuff for me to read as attachments. When I try to open it I get a message that says it can't open the file etc.

I am using Vista not sure what he is using, could this be why I am having a problem. I have asked him and waiting for a reply.

Thanks in advance for any help :)

Hi Abi, You didnt say what the file extension was - i.e. .doc or . pdf etc etc
If they are .doc documents from MS office depending which version you have, most will convert automatically.
However if you still get problems ask the sender to send the documents in .rtf format (Rich Text Format) those can be opened with just about anything. If its a .pdf document then you need Acrobat reader to open it, if its a .txt document then notepad will open it.
Hope that helps
Scream

Hi Abi

If they are .doc then there is a free viewer you can download from here
http://www.officeviewers.com/

I have not actually tried it myself - but if the blurb on the site is accurate it should work.
