Hi, I am an Englishman now living in Turkey and everyday I speak with fellow English people who are having problems with Turkish lawyers. I can strongly recomened Kazmaz law firm. They have assisted me through several issues including property purchasing. They have many English speaking lawyers and some English staff too.

If you would like some more info please message me and I will be happy to help.

I love Turkey and don't like reading the bad reports and experiences I am reading on forums so now I hope to change that.

:welcome: Welcome to the forum Chrisadasi. Thank you for the information. It's always good to have recommendations. Also thank you for the offer of help. That's what we like on this forum.
The first question people are going to ask is where are they based?

Thanks for the warm welcomes...very refreshing.

Ok..Kazmaz law firm have helped me through the whole legal side of property purchases. After some nightmares with agents and developers who offer what I can only describe as 'empty' promises, this law firm really do act on my behalf helping with everything from first deposits, contracts and final payments...even snagging services which I preffer them to do rather than the developer, and in some cases they have held my money until the developer has completed all repairs. I would like to go into details on the agents, developers and law firms who have let me down in the past and charged me for the pleasure but I'm not sure if I can put their names on here!!??!! (Admin please advise)

Kazmaz are based in Bitez with offices in Istanbul, Didim, and Kusadasi and other Towns I think!!!! I also live in Bitez, its quiet and easy going and only 10 minutes from Bodrum and Gumbet if I feel the need to let my hair down. I spend a fair bit of time in Kusadasi (hence the nickname, Chrisadasi) because that is where I'm investing on property at the moment.

Let them know where you got the recommendation.

Any other questions or queries please drop me a line and thanks again for the warm welcomes.

Send me that link in a private message (pm). We're still having some problems with the main directory, when it's up I'll give them a free link. I don't want to forget so send it to me in a PM or an e-mail.

Hi Lauren.....I don't think the lawyers would ask for money with no reason. They act on your behalf and could have picked up some extra expenses or something to that effect. Maybe you had an extra service with an extra charge to add to the 1200 euros.

I don't know the details so can't really offer much help....good luck....hope I have helped a little!

Chrisadasi,

Do you work for Kazmaz? Are you connected in some way, so that you have reason to promote them here?

My experience of Kazmaz has been similar to Lauren. Dire.

They demanded money up front, then demanding more money for "extras" that were supposedly included, Extra Notary fees etc. etc.

Their translator tried to extort an extra £640.00 cash for his sevices (supposedly included). We had to argue we had already been charged.

They are also next to useless when there are any issues, especially with the developer. They don't want to know, and if you press them they want to charge extra.

In our case this was £100.00 PER HOUR! That's right, ONE hundred POUNDS per hour!!

I believe Kazmaz are in the pocket of the big developers. Artev in Bodrum is one example of a developer I believe they are "tied in with".

I am not alone, believe me.

Hi I'm a newbie to this forum but not a newbie to the hassle that can be caused by having an inefficient lawyer , a crooked lawyer, a lawyer that barely speaks pidgin English, or a combination of all three!!
Having now found a trustworthy English speaking lawyer based in Bodrum, I am happy to recommend her. She is fully up to date on all issues affecting foreigners in Turkey and responds to enquiries in English time rather than "Turkey time"
Her details are as follows....
Name:- Nazli Aydogan
Email:- nazli@attorney@turkey.com
Mob:- 0090 532 222 9078
Office- 0090 533 657 3718
Her office is located on the road leading from Bodrum market to the Marina, and is next to the AVIS office

If any of these lawyers would like to serve as legal advisors to this forum, we can set it up so that they are notified of new posts in the legal forums. Providing a little free legal guidance, with contact information, a banner advert, or a link to their website is a great way to get a good reputation, as well as business.

We set things up so that they don't have to keep checking the forum for legal questions our members have, if there are any new ones, the forum will notify them by e-mail, and they can come in and answer the questions if they want to. It's a great system for everyone.

If you know of any lawyers who would like to join our professionals group, send me a PM and I'll get things set up.

Hi Purple,

I'm looking through your post and trying to find who you're doing business with... is Kazmaz your lawyer? That is, are you talking about Kazmaz or another legal agency?

We don't mind if you post info about companies which have ripped you off, but I can't see in your post who exactly you're talking about.

Hi Purple,

Sorry to hear of your dreadful experience.

(deleted)

Don't use Kazmaz as lawyers, whatever you do, as things would only get worse.

Boatless

Hello Boatless,

I dıdn't like that sentence of yours, saying "typical" Turks are any worse than you are.

With that kind of attitude I can imagine the way they must have treated YOU!!

If you have or had a problem with someone, why not try to face them instead rubbishing the whole country.

Shame that I just agreed on the reg. form not to insult anyone ın the forum. :cheer[1]:

You sure deserved it.

Just try to pay a bit more attention to what you say next time..

Moderator's Note: I just deleted it. Everyone, one of the rules is that we do not insult the Turkish people. If you want to make broad sweeping, derogatory statements about all Turks there are other forums you can go to for that. Also let's get back to the topic, and it's not the Turkish people or each other.

Thanks,

Hello there!

The trouble with the legal profession is that 98% of its members give the rest a bad name, everywhere.. <_<

As seen in every poll, the lawyers end up in the most un-trustworthy group.

So don't be hard on Turkish lawyers, please.

I don't work for any lawyers, real-estate and I don't sell Avon...

I mean that I don't get paid or fed for whatever I say here..

I am back in my country after spending 35 years in Australia. :eyebrow[1]:

I disagree with most of the Forums recommended restaurants as well. Much cheaper places available..(Just as good)

Ooops! Forgot to mention, I live in Yalıkavak enjoying my home and the scenery mostly.. :P

That is enough for now, I'll try to help if I can.

Regards,

That's a good one! We have a lot of "lawyer jokes" in the US. But really, I think a person might say bad things about lawyers in general, that is, until they need one... I've needed one or two, myself! And they did an excellent job.

We had some debate about this here, like recommending restaurants, or lawyers, or whatever, and also naming bad businesses, or whatever. It's difficult to know if a person is making the post because they're connected with a business, or if they're connected with their competition. But rather than delete posts, well, we just let them stay, and there's really no way we can verify the information given. In any case I certainly understand what you're saying! :eyebrow[1]:

Dear Chunkyguru,
Can you tell me how much she charges.I have already been taken to the cleaners by incompetent and crooked lawyers and realtors.
Also can anyone else advise of their experience with her and her firm?
Thanks!
