Dear God, what do you say in a case like this? There is nothing to say I think, there are only feelings of grief which can't be verbalized.

Only a few weeks to go and I'll be in Kusadasi. I'm way overdue for a haircut but I always try to wait until I'm in Turkey before I go to the barbers. Turkish barbers are so much better (and cheaper) than barbers in the UK.

We're thinking of catching a bus to Izmir and then to Cesme to spend the night there. I like Cesme too and it will be a bit of an adventure.

I hope the weather is good in Turkey - it's dreadful here.

I'll be waking up in Kusadasi on Friday and will be going straight down to the barber near my hotel. Had a haircut and two shaves last time - he was pretty good but thanks for the offer.

Are there any good dancing bars in Kusadasi apart from the Irish ones in Bar Street?

That's such a tragic story. Makes you realise how lucky you are. There have been some terrible accidents in Turkey over the last few years.

As well as her family, those friends she went with must be so shaken and devastated.

My thoughts and prayers go out to them.

An excellent organization! I've added a link to their website here:

www.turkeycentral.com/Destinations/Kusadasi and www.turkeycentral.com/Society_and_Culture/Associations_and_Organizations.

Certainly a worthwhile cause and a fun group to be a part of if you live in, or visit Kusadasi.

Spent two great weeks in Kusadasi at the end of September. Next year will probably be a road trip from Istanbul to Kusadasi via Ayvalik. Does anyone know anything about Ayvalik? We will be looking for a small hotel/pansyon and any help with bus routes would be appreciated.
