Government promises swift end to chaos in foreign property sale
A Constitutional Court ruling that annuls a law regulating property sales to foreigners went into effect yesterday, temporarily freezing all sales to foreigners and thereby sending a wave of shock and panic through the markets.

..this has been going on for years ,can only be better for europeans in the future ,as we will be the same as turkish people ,buy a house ,tapu next day,existnng buyers ,this will not affect you, everything is in our favour .ok if you buy a house tomorrow you might have to wait longer for your tapu..

"Good Grief!" as Charlie Brown said. So much of the property in the US is actually owned by foreign governments and companies... even Burger King is British. I was surprised to learn that UK companies own more property in the US than any other nationality. The Japanese buy tons of land as well, I suppose because they don't have much. But what's Turkey worrying about? At any time, if worse comes to worst, they can nationalize everything, as Castro did in Cuba. I don't see what their big worry is. I can see what our worry is, but not theirs.
