Interesting article in the Voices newspaper that serves the Altinkum area. I would say that if you live in a different area that the required document list/money you have to show in the bank may vary depending on where you are living in Turkey.




DIDIM’S expat community was left in the dark yet again this week after it emerged that new residence permit holders will be limited to just ONE year on their first application.


Voices has learned that where first timers were able to apply up – at least to last week -for up to five years on their residence permit, they will no longer be able to do so from now on.


Instead they will only be allowed to gain one year on the first application, and once that has run out, only then can they renew for up to five years.

As the article says, this rule has always existed but is now being enforced. Only one year for applicants with a rental contract will cause a few problems because the queues will be even longer, particularly in the Kemer Antalya office where you have to wait amongst all the Russian dancing girls.
