Hurray. Posted Image Posted Image

Apparently at least one Tapu office opened for business again today in the Side area for foreigners who want to sell to foreigners.

The bad news is that Military Searches are still going to be handled in the same way as before. Whether that will change in the near future or not I don't know but would hope so because there were plans to change that system to make that process quicker.

Well it now been printed in the newspaper that the new bill has been given the green light again. I've also read on other forums that the Tapu offices are now open to foreigner's buying again.

yes, it's true - since yesterday foreigners can purchase property, land etc once again.

The changing of the military checks - by way of maps showing no-go areas for foreigners purchasing at the tapu office will be introduced at a later date.

Do you think the military will ever hand over the maps to the Tapu office? Apparently they were supposed to do that way back in 2005 and have been stalling ever since.

The military won't even allow proper topographical maps to be sold to the general public. The maps are going to have to give away the location of all militarily sensitive places place so I don't expect that to happen in my lifetime whatever the politicians say.

By the way, if you need a topographical map of Turkey you can download them from a Russian website. Google will show you where.
