Hello, this is pretty specific so bear with me...

I was just notified of a 2-yr assignment to Incrilik reporting in about 2 months. Needless to say I'll be scrambling to get my stuff together...being a car guy this is what I am working on first. Need the pros/cons on what car to bring:

2005 Toyota 4Runner, 4WD, V8, regular gas (like this http://assets.clickm...0_046.jpg?w=590). About 17 mpg.
vs
2011 Subaru WRX, AWD, premium gas (like this http://www.automobil...ubaru-wrx-4.jpg). About 24 mpg.

I like the size and off-road abiltiy of the 4Runner but worry that it will be a little big. I like the zippyness, smaller size, and newness of the WRX but worried I'll stick out like a sore thumb, it will get trashed (potholes, other drivers, etc), and the availability of premium gas.

Can anyone give me some helpful advice?

Personally I'd bring the Toyota but bear in mind that petrol here is very expensive if you want to do any touring. There are plenty of big pick-up/SUV type vehicles here.

I wouldn't bring anything that you really cared about to drive here as the roads leave a lot to be desired, to put it mildly and the standard of driving here is not world class - don't expect everyone to obey the rules, like stopping at red lights, so something that doesn't damage too easily would be best and as Cukur says benzin as it's called here is very expensive. Diesel is cheaper,( a bit).
