Hi all-)
I missed this forum, I don't know how I didn't return for so long. I'm glad to be back!
I have literally looked everywhere in all Turkish grocery stores there's no Oatmeal to be found. I have been in turkey now for almost a year and I can't believe it that they don't even have something as simple as oatmeal. Have you lovely people seen it anywhere?

I call them porridge oats but then I'm English not American but I think they are the same thing. You can find them in Migros, that's where I get my as I eat them all the time, or any large supermarket I would have thought. In Turkey it's called yulaf ezmesi and costs just over 3TL for a 500 gram box and you shoud find them in the breakfast cereal section.

You can also sometimes buy it loose in shops that sell loose rice, pasta etc.

There is also a German brand called White Oats in one kilo bags and is found in Muhtar Supermarkets in the Antalya region, don't know if it's available elsewhere.

Welcome back Noora! Well it looks like you've had a few answers about the Oatmeal, I found some in the same market Çükürgağlı mentioned, but I'm not sure if I have seen it in other stores.

Kipa also sell it in bags. If you've got a Pehlivanoglu shop in your area, they sell the brand described by Abi.

Les, I forgot Pehlivanoglu so thanks for adding it. Next time I go to Kipa I will have a look and see if I can find the bags. Unfortunately they don't sell it in BIM. I usually buy Kelly's cornflakes from there as they are nearly as good as the ones in the UK.

Does anyone know how much the bags of oats cost please, as they must be larger and cheaper than the boxes?.

Abi, my wife went in Migros to-day and they've got the yellow box of oats on offer at 3 something, it is on a display in the middle of the shop and not on the shelf. We also have Kellys Corn Flakes, in addition to the ordinary corn flakes we're very partial to the caramel variety, yummy !!!! Have to admit, I do miss Tesco Micro Oats !! On the subject of HP Sauce, we've found that it works out considerably cheaper to buy the catering size and fill a smaller bottle from that. We bought a 1 lira squeezy bottle of ketchup from Pehlivanoglu, used it and we refill that.

Yes the catering size of HP works out a lot cheaper. I found several on the reduced shelf at Kipa a while back so got enough for everyone.
