I was out photographing property yesterday when I saw a small field being ploughed using a one horse plough. It is a very short video as my memory card was almost full.

I love the way this shows the old and the modern side by side, typical of Turkey!

I feel sorry for the poor horse, he doesn't look like a plough horse.
A couple of years ago there was a man having much more success with his horse and plough in a field behind Dande's house. He managed straight furrows but that land had been ploughed regularly unlike the jungle in the above video.

He does look quite young and did seem to be struggling a bit.

The horse is only struggling when he's turning round. It looks as though they are both learning how to do it, according to my neighbour the piece that is called the "share" needs to be set deeper to give the horse something to pull against and slow him down. I never thought I'd know that!

Arrrr, Farmer Cukur! :D The 'plough' did look rather rudimentary.
