A 31-year-old Turkish man built a robot specifically designed to aid people with spinal paralysis, daily Hürriyet reported.

Necati Hacıkadiroğlu and his team worked out the model based on consultations from rehabilitation centers and spinal paralysis foundations, allowing the robot to respond to the exact needs of patients.....

I saw this on the news this evening. It looks great. As the article says, it allows paralysed people to get up and stand and move around so that they could cook or wash up amongst other things and gives them a lot more freedom. I hope the man is able to market it as I think it's much more versatile than a wheel chair.
