Greek travel agencies and hotels have been frequenting their Turkish counterparts as Greek tourism firms have cut their prices by 50 to 70 percent, which has prompted Turkish tour operators to include Greece in their destination lists

This photo shows a beach on the Greek island of Mykonos, which is a popular summer destination spot for holidaymakers like the ones that Greece hopes to attract.

Turkey’s debt-ridden western neighbor Greece, which is on the brink of national bankruptcy, has hopes to prop up its tourism sector regarding the Turkish market.

Greek travel agencies and hotels have been frequenting their Turkish counterparts in the last months as the Greek tourism firms have undercut their average prices by 50 to 70 percent.

The price cut has resulted in the Turkish tour operators including Greece and its reputed leisurely islands in their destination lists..........

The Greek people have been sold down the river by their politicians and while the rich are not being unduly affected, the majority of the population, especially in the cities, seems to be having an increasingly difficult time.

No it's not Vic as I believe Spain is also cutting prices trying to get tourists to go there this year. All round I think it may be a tough year for many countries that rely on tourist's, as the economic crisis gets worse.

I really don't understand why countries lend money to other countries to pay off debts. I thought that if individuals did this it was illegal.

In order for a charge of embezzlement to be supported, four factors must be present:

  • There must be a fiduciary relationship between the two parties; that is, there must be a reliance by one party on the other
  • The defendant must have acquired the property through the relationship (rather than in some other manner)
  • The defendant must have taken ownership of the property or transferred the property to someone else
  • The defendant's actions were intentional.

Yes I agree its not good for the tourist destinations here or other places, but from what I can see it is better for Turkish people looking to go on holiday as it will be a lot cheaper xx

I doubt they're going to attract too many tourists with photos of a packed beach like that, looks like my idea of hell.

I agree with you Cukur, but a lot of people seem to like it or it wouldn't be crowded.

Where is Livingston Vic? I can think of a lot of places far worse than the place in the photo.
