The number of individuals with AIDS in Turkey has increased due to the number of foreign prostitutes carrying HIV.
About 70,000 foreigners were deported from Turkey in the last seven years for various reasons. The vast majority were women, most of whom were deported on charges of prostitution. According to recent official figures, most of the foreign prostitutes working in Turkey carry various infectious diseases, primarily AIDS, which kills around 1.8 million people a year worldwide.
These foreign prostitutes, who continue to work despite this, create a great danger for Turkish people.
According to figures from the İstanbul Provincial Health Directorate, the number of people in İstanbul diagnosed with AIDS increased by about three times from 2010 to 2011. While there were 127 people infected with AIDS in 2010 in İstanbul, this number increased to 427 in 2011. Of this number, 111 are foreign women working as prostitutes in the city......

Although the Turkish figures are nowhere near as high as other countries, it is still not a good sign.
I wonder why all the blame is put on the prostitutes? It couldn't be anything to do with men's reluctance to use condoms could it?
