Hi again

We are Ian and Allison looking to buy in Altinkum. We will be travelling to Altinkum in May for a holiday with a view to buying a property in the region.
We would appreciate any advice on good estate agents solicitors banks etc in the region and also advice on what/who to avoid in our search
Kind regards

The best advice I can give you is not to buy until you have rented for a year or so to get to know the area well during all seasons as it's easier to move if you are not happy with an area rather than than trying to sell a property.

Hi Scopsowl, Sunny has given you excellent advice!Posted Image One thing I would add is that Altinkum has a very large expat community, which may or may not be a good thing. The downside to that is there are thousands of properties for sale out there, and whilst that's good for you now, properties seem to be very hard to sell on again.Posted Image

It's just something for you to consider for the future. I would definitely advise you to rent for at least a year before buying!

Have you ever been to Altinkum? You might consider travelling around the other resorts and towns and comparing.Posted Image

Good luck!

Allison and Ian, further to my private message, should you decide to buy, make sure that the property is less than twelve months old as this will have been built to the latest specification in as much that it has got insulation and that makes a BIG difference. This Winter has been the coldest for 33 years out here.

Les thanks for pointing out about getting a property which is less than 12 months old because they will be insulated. I must remember that as it makes a heck of a difference as we have found out this winter.
