Hi,

I am currently living in Izmir with my Turkish husband and he has just been offered a good job with his friend for the months of June, July and August in Alanya. Obviously I will go with him and I was wondering if anyone knew of any short term lets that we could use. We have our house here in Izmir so will want a part furnished place if possible or even a cheap self catering apartment would be good. I have never been to Alanya so I don't even know where to start! Its not that easy with my husbands job to even pop down there for the weekend.

If anyone could point me in the right direction and give me some ideas I ill be very grateful.

Hi, Im afraid i dont know too much about living in alanya but i have been on many trips there as living in side is pretty close. I hope you find somewhere easily without any stress! You will like Alanya for your short term stay, its a lovely place x

I lived three months in Alanya in autumn 2010 and I stayed Azalea apart hotel. It was lovely and good location. I have no idea how much it cost though cause my employer paid it, but shouldn't be too much anyway.

I think it would be easiest if you book a hotel for a week or two and look for apartment during that time. It's probably easiest to find something suitable when you are already there and you can ask around.

Many of the apartments for rent will be taken during these months by holiday people and by seasonal workers. Where abouts in Alanya will your husband be working? If you can let me know I can have a look around for you and send you the phone numbers for Apart Otels so you and your husband can make enquiries

Thanks for your replies and sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I have been unable to log on for a few days but all sorted now. My husband will be working all around Alanya but mainly around the marina. We are happy to stay anywhere and we really only want something cheap and cheerful as we will be out most of the day so just really need a base.

Take a look at the Hurriyet website. It's in Turkish but not too difficult to follow. Click on Konut then Kiralik, then chose Antalya, then Alanya and the amount that you are prepared to pay, min and max.

Thanks for that link. There are some nice apartments on there so will speak to my husband tomorrow and get him to have a look too. ı never thought of looking on those sites as didn't think if they would do short term rentals; I guess a few calls tomorrow will soon answer that for me!
