When you are disappointed with legislation making your life more difficult in Turkey for no apparent reason, when you get frustrated due to long waits for a visa, when you think some ridiculous application required by an official due to a new regulation is a complete waste of time, you are not alone as an expat.
Turkish people feel the same way on many occasions. Such regulations were usually made either because of some idiots who violated the law and the state therefore had to protect order or because some people failed to comply and the state therefore endeavored to improve the system and make it work smoothly but did not pay attention to how difficult they were making the lives of those who do obey the laws and rules.
This week I have taken the liberty of writing about my own complaints for a new application that makes life more difficult for nothing.
Whether you are aware or not, Turkish citizens going abroad must pay a fee of TL 15 to leave the country. Thank God this fee, which was originally $100, decreased to $50 before 2007 and finally dropped to TL 15.........
