Thanks for that Abi. So at last they are introducing the 90/180 visa. People will have to do some careful planning or get a residence permit.

Anybody know how to get a one year visa? I'm not talking about the residency, but I know you can pay £50 for a one year visa, which is what I'm going to need to get, as I'll be going to see Kaan - after next week - once in May when we're getting married - so I'll get my new visa - again in August and then again in November, then once Kaan finishes the army in February 2013, I'll be moving back out to Izmir until his visa comes through. So I'm going to need to get these one year visas. How do I go about getting them? Can I get them from England?

You can get it from the Embassy of Turkey. It would probably be easier for you just to get residency when you go out to get married for 5 years. If I remember correctly, it doesn't matter how long you're out of Turkey, It'll still be valid until expiration.

Libby, Although I have seen a 1 year visa listed I've never heard of read anywhere of anyone getting one, so can't say. To apply for a 1 year visa you will have to make an appointment on line via the Turkish Consulate Website.
Here is a link to the Turkish Consulate in London where you will find more details http://www.google.co...qrbvLsFVEs5gQHQ

Why do you want to do it this way? A multiple entry visa is likely to be more expensive and more hassle than a residence permit.

I thought a visa would have been better, as you have to have £2,000 or something in your bank to get it and noway am i going to have that as i'm just a part time waitress/barmaid. But then I was thinking last night, my parents could pop the money in the bank and as soon as everything has been accepted, take it out again. But yeah, found that British consoluate website, so I'll give them a call once I get back from Turkey on the 23rd x

Libby, If you are married to a Turk you don't need to show any money in the bank

Bear in mind that the money has to be in your Turkish bank.
Edit : Oops, didn't spot that Abi.

Ooooh really? That's even better! We're planning on getting married in May, so by the time I need to get a residency we'll be married! That makes things so much better.
