Hi everyone,
I hope you can help me, I have a bit of a problem.

I am from the UK but currently living in Egypt and moving to Bulgaria next week. My girlfriend is travelling from Cairo to Ataturk with Egyptair and then from Ataturk to Sofia with Turkish airlines with our pet dog. Contacted Turkish airlines before booking the flight to confirm plane could accept the dog in the cargo and they confirmed this and told me to phone back once ticket was booked. Anyway, after numerous phone calls over the last 6 weeks they have finally informed me they cannot confirm my dog will be accepted on the flight.

So basically I was wondering if anyone could help me out with the details of a dog kennels/pet hotel somewhere near Ataturk airport. Preferably one that has an English speaking staff member as have phoned 4 places now and none of them speak English. I am hoping that we will be succesful in getting the dog on the flight but need a plan in case we cant.... The flight is on Sunday.

Thanks in advance

Scott

Ho Scottamac and welcome to our forum. This is the nearest hotel I could find and is only 2 km away from the airport. Pets are allowed at no extra charge but only available on request.

Hopefully you won't need their services. How big is your dog?, hopefully it's not too big because it could be a problem transferring it to the hotel and back.

Hope that helps and good luck with the move :)

Thanks very much for your help Abi.

Unfortunately I wasnt clear enough in my post. Not needing a hotel for my girlfriend as she will be continuing on from Sofia to the UK, we will then be driving to Bulgaria on 1st December, when we would then drive to Istanbul to pick up the dog, from a dog kennels or similar.
