Everyone seems to visit the Aegean coast i.e Bodrum, Marmaris, Olu Deniz etc etc but i feel they are missing out by not visiting the Mediterranean coast and Alanya.
Alanya is a vibrant, cosmopolitan resort with a touch of Turkish traditionalism, which will appeal to a wide range of holidaymakers. It also has top class hotels, numerous restaurants, cafes, and bars near the sea. The area between the harbour and the city is fantastic for shopping, the streets
are lined with countless boutiques offering a wide variety of traditional Turkish handicrafts and souvenirs such as leather wear, handbags and jewellery.
Whether taking a photo from the fortress at sunset or strolling along the streets, this is a great place for a holiday. The harbour, the long white beaches, the brilliant turquoise waters, and the foothills of the Taurus Mountains sloping down to the sea make Alanya as picturesque as anywhere on the Mediterranean.
Unlike other parts of the Turkish coast, especially the Aegean, Alanya does NOT shut down during the winter months. The cafes, restaurants and shops continue to remain busy during these warm winter months. Alanya has 16 miles of coastline, with three Blue Flag beaches.
Alanya (jewel of the mediterranean) is also very popular with the Turkish tourists just as Devon (England's Jewel) is with the English
