The Çalış Children’s Charity had been looking for a new home over the summer months to store their donated items and have now moved to the Eyna Restaurant on Çalış seafront.
Over the last week the area beneath the restaurant has been undergoing a “Changing Rooms” style makeover and has been transformed into two separate areas, a storage depot for car boot items and donated children’s goods and, at the front, a sales area which will be open to the public from 11.00 am to 2.00pm on Mondays and Fridays throughout the year.
The sales outlet will be similar to an English charity shop and will stock the better condition and better quality donated items of second hand clothing which include many UK brands such as Next, Marks and Spencer, Wallis, BHS and Primark in a full range of sizes.
There will even be a changing room where you can try on the goods.
As well as lots of clothing there will be a wide range of books, including many recent bestsellers, bedding and curtains, “bric a brac”, silk flower arrangements and many collectable items, including an array of porcelain dolls, die-cast cars and cute “Tuskers” elephants on sale.
“We are really excited about the new project” said 3C’s Chair Peter Clark.
“We have received some really nice donations of goods over the summer months which are really too good to sell at the car boot sales so when we knew we were moving to Eyna we had a meeting with FETAV, Fethiye Belediye and the Çalış Association and we have been given permission to hold the sales from our depot. All of the money raised from the sales of donated items goes to help fund children’s projects in the Çalış /Fethiye area. We hope to increase the number of annual bursaries that we provide to help local students attend university who would otherwise be unable to do so, directly from the income from the new sales outlet.”
The new depot/outlet will also be used as a ticket office for the 3C’s fundraising events and if anyone has any donations of unwanted goods to donate to the charity these can be dropped off at Eyna at any time. The 3C’s are always willing to collect bulkier items.
The grand opening of the depot and sales outlet takes place on Friday 2nd September at 11.00 with the opening ceremony being performed by Dilek Dinçer, Director of FETAV. So please pop along and see what is on offer.
As well as shopping, customers will be able to stop off and enjoy the Eyna’s proper Italian coffee and a slice of Nalan’s delicious cake.
There is also convenient car parking nearby in the “Car Boot” car park.
