Not sure if i have posted this in the correct forum but as its about an İzmir Hospital just though i would put it here.
The past 3 weeeks i have been back and for to this hospital for a reason i am too fragile to enclose at the moment sorry but i would like to just say how much of an amazing service and treatment i had in Dokuz Eylul hospital. The doctors were amazing and most of them fluent in english or spoke well enough to calm my nervous haha.
Really would like to thank them all at the hospital as a Yabanci who is petrified of hospitals for making such a horrible experience a better one for me. xxxx

Thanks for the feedback Sam as I'm sure it will reassure people that if they have to go there they will be able to communicate with the staff.
Sorry to hear you needed to go there but sounds like you were in good hands,
Kolay gelsin

Thanks you for that helpful post Sam. Up till now (touch wood) I've not needed to use hospitals here but it's certainly reasuring to hear that you had good treatment at Dokuz Eylul.
I hope you are fully recovered.

Where is Dokuz Eylul hospital? What's the address, what part of Izmir is it in?

In Narlidere, you pass agora, koçtaş and kipa in balçova. then you come to an intersection with traffic lights. To your right there are blocks of buildings which is the hospital.

I remember it very well. Where do the U.S. military go now? There was even an American vet,(not in the same building) where I took my dog to be treated. Why did they close the building I wonder?

I imagine it was closed due to the large reduction of US military and dependents over the years. I think the military
now go to a local Turkish facility.

we know some Turkish friends who went to that Uni /hospital & all say its top notch. I think thats one bonus of being able to access a big city hossy & not rurual ones which cannot cater for most locals let alone yabanci sensitivities...language/hig standards etc ...if i was there i would have come with you to check it out too! im curious myself & i too hate using hospitals. If you ever need a hand holder or a listener im here you know that.
