Here is a list of compiled emergency numbers - just in case....hopefully you will never need them.


Fire 110

Emergency 112

Police 155

Gendarme 156

Forest Fire 177

Coast Security 158

These are the numbers for the whole of Turkey and you are put through immediately.

These service calls are free of charge, 24 hrs a day.
If you're using a card operated pay phone, you can directly dial the emergency number without inserting the card.

However if you use a coin operated pay phone, you should insert the coin to place the call although it is returned back at the end of the call.

Bear in mind that the emergency numbers at the top of Cleopatra's post will take you to a central exchange and if you're trying to explain where something is the person you are talking to will have no idea of local landmarks, you will need to know official street names and suchlike.
