As I mentioned before, the internet is running at snail's pace here in Istanbul. Don't know about where you are but it's ok in the mornings and then when the kids come home and start browsing You Tube (apparently this is the problem) the bandwidth disappears:( It's so bad I can hardly open a web page let alone download anything. If I need to download or upgrade OS etc I have to do it in the mornings.

Sorry to hear about that benh -- those darn kids ! I guess it's because Istanbul's so densely populated ? The internet's not bad where we are -- it does have its ups & downs of course, but nowhere near what you describe ! Sorry I don't have any practical suggestions (except....maybe move away fron the big smoke ? ).

I recently moved just a few blocks and we set up the Internet again, to find it slower than before. I have no idea why, but it is! It was roughly about the time they unbanned YouTube, I hadn't even thought about that. Thanks BenH! Just wish there was something I could do about it...

In Cesme we have problems in the summer when the schools are on holiday and everyone moves here from the cities.
