Built in the 2nd Century AD, the Hidirlik Kulesi (tower) stands at 13.45 meters high. While it's original purpose remains a mystery, this structure probably served as a lighthouse as well as a fort overlooking the harbor. Because of a symbol found inside the building, it's been suggested that it was also the burial place for a local person of importance. Today it's one of Antalya's most famous and most-photographed landmarks, second only to the fluted minaret, and is an excellent point from which watch a sunset.
