Antalya Beaches
Antalya has two long, wide beaches which extend west and east from the harbor, and a small beach located on the western end of the harbor.
Konyaalti Beach extends west
for several kilometers. It
is Antalya's most popular
beach (click for photos).
Konyaalti Beach
Konyaalti Beach, which begins around three kilometers west of Analya's harbor, is a clean, blue-flag pebble beach with free access. A road descends from the cliffs down to a public parking lot. Beach chairs and umbrellas can be rented for a small fee. Behind Konyaalti Beach is a pleasant promenade, a shady park, and a few cafes. A few major hotels are located near Konyaalti Beach as well. You can reach Konyaalti Beach by taking the tram to the end (its western terminus is at Konyaalti Beach), or by taking a dolmus with the placard "Muze" in the windshield, since the museum is located just inland from Konyaalti Beach.
Lara Beach
Lara Beach is around ten kilometers from the harbor, with the first beach being the public "Halk Plaji," which is administered by the Antalya municipality. Beyond the public beach are mostly commercial beaches run by luxury hotels. These beaches typically involve a fee for entrance, but they do have an abundance of facilities, water sports, and entertainment. You can reach Lara beach from city center on dolmuses with placards reading "Lara Beach," or having the placard numbers 18, 30 or 77.
City Beach (Mermerli Beach)
Mermerli Beach is a very small sandy beach on the west end of the harbor, next to the Mermerli Restaurant. There is also the Adalar Swimming Area (decks atop the rocks, no sandy beach) along the cliffs of Karaalioglu Park within walking distance (west) of the yacht harbor. There is a small fee to access both of these areas.
Turkey Central also has an Antalya Forum where you can meet others who share your interest in Antalya. Please feel free to visit an join our community!
